Seller Terms

Version 2026-08-07.

These terms apply when you switch on paid access for a document. They sit alongside our main Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy; where they conflict on the subject of selling, these terms apply.

You accept them when you connect a Stripe account for selling. If we change them materially, you will be asked to accept the new version before you can continue.

When someone buys access to your document:

  • You are the merchant of record, not Living Page
  • Your business name appears at checkout, on the receipt and on the buyer’s statement
  • The contract of sale is between you and the buyer. We are not a party to it
  • You are responsible for the content, its description, and its fitness for what you claim

We provide the platform, the reader, and the connection to Stripe. We do not sell your document, own it, or warrant it to anyone.

Payments are processed by Stripe through a connected account in your name, which you set up and control. Money is paid to you by Stripe under your agreement with them.

Living Page charges 2.5% of each sale. It is taken automatically at the point of payment. Stripe’s own processing fees are charged to you separately by Stripe at your rate with them.

If you refund a sale, our fee is returned to you with it.

Your relationship with Stripe is governed by their Connected Account Agreement, which you accept during setup. Stripe may restrict, suspend or close your account under that agreement, and if they do you cannot take payments here.

Tax is yours. As merchant of record you are responsible for determining, charging, collecting and remitting any VAT, sales tax or other tax due on your sales, in every jurisdiction where you have an obligation.

Selling digital content across borders commonly creates obligations at the buyer’s rate rather than your own. We do not calculate, collect or remit tax on your behalf, and prices you set are treated as inclusive of any tax due.

If you are unsure, take advice. We cannot give it.

Refunds are yours to give. You can refund any sale from your dashboard or from Stripe. Doing so revokes the buyer’s access immediately.

Consumers may have a statutory right to cancel. In the UK, EU and elsewhere, buyers of digital content generally have a 14-day cancellation right, which is lost only where they have expressly agreed to immediate access and acknowledged losing it. Our checkout asks buyers to do exactly that before they pay. You remain responsible for honouring any cancellation right that applies.

Chargebacks are yours. A disputed payment is debited from your Stripe balance, and you handle the dispute in your Stripe account. We do not represent you in it.

If a buyer contacts us, we will point them to you. Where a complaint suggests a breach of these terms or our content rules, we may investigate, disable the document, or require a refund.

See What you may not sell. In summary: you must own the content or hold the right to sell it, describe it honestly, and comply with both our rules and Stripe’s.

You are responsible for having the rights you claim. We do not check them in advance, and not checking is not approval.

When someone buys, they get what you offered at the time of purchase:

  • Access to the document as described, for the period you set
  • The current version — if you replace the document, buyers see the new one
  • A personal link that continues to work for the access period

If you delete a document, buyers lose access. We will warn you and tell you how many people it affects, but the decision and its consequences are yours. Do not sell access you do not intend to provide.

We may disable paid access on a document, or withdraw your ability to sell, where we reasonably believe:

  • These terms, the Acceptable Use Policy or the prohibited-sales rules have been breached
  • Sales are fraudulent, or the content is not yours to sell
  • Continuing would expose us, Stripe or buyers to legal risk

Where practical we will tell you why and give you an opportunity to respond. Where the risk is serious — copyright infringement, fraud, illegal content — we may act immediately.

Withdrawal of selling does not affect buyers who have already paid: their access continues unless the content itself must come down.

You agree to cover us against claims, losses and costs arising from your sales — including claims that your content infringes someone’s rights, that it was misdescribed, that tax was unpaid, or that a buyer did not receive what they paid for.

We provide the platform as described. We do not guarantee sales, revenue, or that any particular buyer will be able to complete a purchase. We are not liable for losses arising from Stripe’s decisions about your account, from your pricing, or from disputes between you and a buyer.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

You can stop selling at any time by switching paid access off. Buyers who have already paid keep their access for the period they bought.

If your plan no longer includes paid access, you cannot price new documents — but existing buyers are unaffected.

We may change these terms. Material changes require you to accept the new version before you continue selling. The version and date are shown at the top of this page.
