Report misuse

If you have found a document — or been sent a file transfer — hosted on Living Page that shouldn’t be there, tell us and we will look at it.

You do not need a Living Page account to report something, and you do not need to be the person affected.

What to report

• Your copyrighted work, published by someone without your permission
• An unexpected file transfer — someone has sent you files through Living Page that you did not ask for and did not expect. Every transfer page and the email that carries it link here for exactly this
• Malware or phishing — a document carrying a malicious link, or one built to harvest logins or card details. We run automated link checks, but no check catches everything, and reports are how the ones that slip through get found
• Impersonation — a document passing itself off as your organisation, or using your branding without permission
• Fraud or deception — fake invoices, forged documents, counterfeit certificates
• Harassment, threats, or hate speech
• Personal or confidential information published without consent
• Anything illegal

Anything else that looks like a breach of our Acceptable Use Policy is worth reporting too. We would rather look at something that turns out to be fine than miss something that isn’t.

Child sexual abuse material

If a document contains material that sexually exploits a child, report it to us and to the authorities directly. In the UK that is the Internet Watch Foundation; in the US, the NCMEC CyberTipline. We act on these immediately and report them ourselves, but reporting to them directly gets it in front of people who can do more than we can.

What to include

The more of this you can give us, the faster we can act:

1. The link. The full URL of the document or transfer — this is the single most important thing. We cannot act on “a document on your site”. A transfer link looks like send.livingpage.app/t/...; if you were emailed one, forwarding that email to us gives us everything we need in one go
2. What’s wrong with it, in a sentence or two
3. Your relationship to it — are you the copyright owner, the person being impersonated, or a member of the public who came across it?
4. How to reach you, so we can tell you what we did

If you are reporting copyright infringement

We need a bit more, so that we are acting on a proper claim rather than a disagreement:

1. The URL of the infringing document
2. A description of the work you say has been copied, and where your original can be seen if it is online
3. A statement that you own the rights or are authorised to act for the owner
4. A statement that you believe the use is not authorised by you, your agent, or the law
5. Your name, contact details, and an electronic signature (typing your full name is enough)

Please only submit a claim if you genuinely hold the rights. A takedown removes someone’s work, sometimes work they are relying on for their business.

What happens next

We aim to acknowledge every report within one business day, and to reach a decision on most within three. Reports involving illegal content, malware or a risk to someone’s safety jump the queue and are usually handled the same day.

When we act, we will normally:

1. Unpublish the document, so the link stops resolving
2. Notify the account holder, telling them what was removed and why
3. Tell you the outcome, if you gave us a way to reply

We may suspend or terminate an account outright where the breach is serious or repeated. See what happens if the policy is broken.

If you are the account holder and we removed something

You can ask us to look again. Reply to the notice we sent, or email hello@livingpage.app explaining why you think the removal was wrong — for example, that you do hold the rights, or that the report misidentified your document. We will review it and tell you either way.

A note on what we can see

Nothing automated reads documents as they are uploaded. We do review recent uploads by hand, so the most obvious misuse can be found without anyone reporting it — but that catches only what is obvious from the outside. A forged invoice, a document impersonating your organisation, or your copyrighted work republished all look entirely ordinary to us.

So a report with a working link is worth far more to us than anything we can find on our own. That is why this page exists.

When we do open a document, it is a named member of staff and the access is recorded, not a system scanning everything. Our Privacy Policy sets out exactly when that can happen and what limits it.
