Acceptable Use Policy
Living Page hosts documents and makes them readable on the web. That means what you publish through us is visible to anyone you send the link to — and, on a custom domain, appears to come from you or your client.
This policy sets out what you may and may not do with that. It sits alongside our Terms of Service, which remain the binding agreement; this page explains the same expectations in more detail and tells you how to report a problem.

Who this applies to
Section titled “Who this applies to”Everyone who uses Living Page — account holders on any plan, anyone using the free no-account trial on our homepage, and anyone a customer invites into their workspace. If you run an agency, you are responsible for what your team and your clients publish through your workspace.
You must have the right to publish it
Section titled “You must have the right to publish it”This is the one that catches people out, so it comes first.
Before you upload a document, you need the right to publish it. Owning a copy of a PDF is not the same as having permission to put it on the public web.
You need to be sure that:
- You created the document, or you have permission from whoever did
- Any images, fonts, illustrations or photography inside it are licensed for this use. Stock licences often cover print but not web publication, and “comp” or preview images usually cover neither
- If it is client work, your contract lets you publish it. Agencies routinely hold the file without holding the right to republish it
- Any people identifiable in it have agreed to appear — particularly in brochures, prospectuses and event photography
- Any third-party material you have quoted or reproduced is used with permission or falls within a genuine exception
If you are not sure, do not publish it. A private link is still publication: anyone who has it can open it, and links get forwarded.
Content you must not publish
Section titled “Content you must not publish”You may not use Living Page to store, publish or distribute:
- Anything illegal under UK law or the law where you or your readers are
- Child sexual abuse material. Reported to the authorities, account terminated immediately, no exceptions and no appeal
- Malware, phishing, or anything designed to compromise a device or account — including documents whose purpose is to carry a malicious link or credential-harvesting page
- Content that infringes someone’s copyright, trademark or other rights
- Harassment, threats, or material that incites violence or hatred against people or groups
- Pornography or sexually explicit material. This is not a moral position — we are a business-document tool, and hosting it creates obligations we are not set up to meet
- Fraud and deception — fake invoices, forged documents, counterfeit certificates, impersonation of a person or organisation, or anything designed to mislead someone into parting with money or credentials
- Personal or confidential data you have no right to circulate — leaked databases, medical records, someone else’s identity documents
- Content that misrepresents its origin, including using a custom domain or white-label to pass work off as another organisation’s without their agreement
Things you must not do
Section titled “Things you must not do”Separate from what you publish, you may not:
- Bypass or attempt to bypass plan limits, usage limits, or the free trial’s restrictions
- Probe, scan, scrape or overload the Service, or interfere with its availability for others
- Resell or provide the Service to third parties beyond what your plan allows. Client workspaces on an Agency plan are exactly this permission, granted explicitly
- Use the email gate to collect addresses under false pretences, or to send unsolicited marketing in breach of applicable law
- Use automated means to create accounts or generate free trial shares in bulk
The free trial specifically
Section titled “The free trial specifically”The no-account share on our homepage exists so people can try the product without signing up. It is rate-limited and expires after 24 hours.
It is not an anonymous file-distribution service, and using it as one — to host material you would not put your name to, or to work around a suspension — is a breach of this policy. We log enough to identify and block abuse of it.
What we monitor, and what we don’t
Section titled “What we monitor, and what we don’t”We would rather be straight with you about this than imply more than we do.
We do not proactively scan or review uploaded documents. Files are not virus-scanned, and no automated system inspects their content. We do not read customer documents as a matter of course, and we would need a good reason — a report, a legal obligation, or a specific technical fault — to look at one.
What that means in practice: we act on reports. If nobody tells us, we are unlikely to know. It also means you should not treat publication through Living Page as any kind of endorsement or check of what you have uploaded — the responsibility for that is yours.
Reporting a problem
Section titled “Reporting a problem”If you have found something on Living Page that breaks this policy — including your own copyrighted work published without permission — please report it. That page explains what to include and what happens next.
What happens if this policy is broken
Section titled “What happens if this policy is broken”We aim to be proportionate. The response depends on what has happened and whether it looks deliberate.
- Something ambiguous or likely accidental — we will usually contact you first and give you a chance to fix or remove it
- A clear breach — we will remove or unpublish the content, and tell you we have done so
- A serious breach, or a repeated one — we may suspend or terminate the account
- Illegal content, or anything endangering a child — immediate removal and termination, and a report to the relevant authorities
Where we terminate an account for breaching this policy, we do not refund the remainder of a subscription period.
We may also act where we are legally required to, or where content creates a genuine risk to the Service or to other users, without prior notice.
If you think we got it wrong
Section titled “If you think we got it wrong”We can. If your content was removed or your account actioned and you believe that was a mistake, reply to the notice we sent, or email hello@livingpage.app with the details. We will look again, and we will tell you the outcome either way.
Changes to this policy
Section titled “Changes to this policy”We will update this page as the product changes and as we learn what actually needs saying. The date at the top tells you when it last changed. Where a change materially reduces what you are allowed to do, we will give existing customers reasonable notice.
